Diabetes Mellitus
Diabetes mellitus (DM) (from the word, diabaĆnein, “transparent” or “shower”, and the Latin word mellitus, “sweetness”) commonly known as diabetes is a disease characterized by hyperglycemia (elevated blood sugar levels) which constant and varied, especially after eating. Other sources mention that the reference to diabetes mellitus is a state of chronic hyperglycemia accompanied by various metabolic disorders caused by hormonal disorders, which cause a variety of chronic complications in the eyes, kidneys and blood vessels, accompanied by lesions in the basal membrane in the electron microscope examination.
