Liver cancer is cancerous tumor that forms from cells that make up the heart. Since the heart consists of several types of cells, some types of tumors can grow in the organ. Hepatocellular carcinoma is the most common form of liver cancer in adults.

Liver cancer is often called the “silent disease.” Patients often have no symptoms until the cancer at later stages, so rarely found early. As the cancer grows, some patients may experience symptoms such as abdominal pain in the upper right side through the back and shoulders, bloating, weight gain, loss of appetite, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, fever, and jaundice. Other liver diseases and health problems can also cause these symptoms, but anyone experiencing these symptoms should see a doctor.
